Cookie Policy

Last updated: May 30, 2026

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. TradeScaner uses cookies and similar browser storage (such as localStorage) to keep you signed in and remember your preferences.

2. How we use storage

TradeScaner uses localStorage (not traditional tracking cookies) for these essential purposes:

NamePurposeDuration
tradingAuthTokenKeeps you signed in (JWT authentication token)7 days or until sign-out
tradingPinnedStocksStores pinned tickers locally for quick accessUntil cleared
tradingScanPresetsRemembers your custom scanner presetsUntil cleared

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.

3. Essential vs. optional

All storage used by TradeScaner is essential — required for core functionality (authentication, preferences). We do not use optional or tracking cookies, so no consent banner is presented.

4. Managing your storage

You can clear all locally stored data at any time by:

  • Signing out of your account (clears your authentication token)
  • Clearing localStorage for tradescaner.com via your browser's developer tools
  • Clearing all site data in your browser settings

Clearing localStorage signs you out and resets local preferences. Your account data on our servers is not affected.

5. Third-party storage

Our market-data and news providers may set storage when their data loads. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for details.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as the Service evolves. Changes are posted here with an updated revision date.
